Description:

A large glossy all black wasp (30mm long) with very distinctive, heavily veined blue wings.

Habitat:

Open forest.

Notes:

This is a solitary, parasitic wasp. Females will dig to find beetle grubs, paralyse them and lay eggs. Adults feed on flowers.
