My wife and I had been trying to spot this bird for a couple of weeks. On this day, we set out early in the morning, braving -5 F wind chills to try our luck again. Here is the result...several Sandhills trying to stay warm in the only part of the pond that was not frozen. As luck would have it, we picked up another life bird only feet away from these guys...Tundra Swans.

@FluffBerger - Sandhill Cranes are not endangered at all. However, to see one in central Ohio is pretty unusual. Same goes for the Tundra Swans, although we are in their migratory path. Thanks for the congratulations. I was pretty excited to see the both.
