I saw the hoopoe eating insects (?) close to the street in Playa de las Americas at Tenerife, Canary Islands
Oh man, beautiful shot of the hoopoe! I'm from Egypt and have these birds everywhere! Can anyone say nostalgia!?
I think you're right about it eating insects, since they are it's main source of food. Lovely spotting.
