Description:

"Head, scutellum and elytra are dark-brown, with a thick and long tawny hair on elytra and abdomen. Elytra show two series of white spots on the sides of the central hull. Scutellun is rounded and hairy, but glabrous in the posterior. The fifth humeral slot is bifurcated." - wiki

Habitat:

"These beetles are mainly found in France, Italy, Greece, Macedonia, Portugal, former Yugoslavia, Spain, in the Near East and in North Africa." - wiki

Notes:

Spotted on my 'nimnam' plant (Shouwia purpurea) in my desert garden.

Thanks, Noe and Pili, for the ID! I forgot about this little critter until he showed up in my garden again this week (February is obviously his season!). I've added another spotting with much clearer photos:
