Eastern gray squirrel (kitten)

Scouts carolinensis

Description:

This little guy fell 20' from a tree and landed on the road in front of us. He seemed stunned but otherwise unhurt so I carried him to the foot of the tree and covered him with a few leaves to hide him from predators. He was totally limp in my hands but livened up a bit once on the ground. His mother was up in the branches so hopefully she was able to retrieve him. He was gone when we returned from our hike 90 minutes later.

Habitat:

Percy Warner park
