Description:

Native to the islands of Java, Bali and Timor. Rusa deer are very sociable and seldom found alone; even if one seems to be alone it probably is not.

Habitat:

open grasslands

Notes:

There is a lot of deer on Handeuleum island in Ujung Kulon national park. They are fairly habituated to humans and will accept food from your hand.
