Holm oak leave

Quercus ilex

Description:

The Holm Oak or Holly Oak is a large evergreen oak native to the Mediterranean region. The leaves are dark green above and pale whitish-grey with dense short hairs below. This leaf was on the ground and I guess that for a long period of time so it was quite deteriorated.

Habitat:

Open forest with pine trees and Holm oaks

Notes:

I do not know what are the dark spots, a fungus? a lichen?

It could also be mold. The leaves are dark green above and pale whitish-grey with dense short hairs below. This leaf was on the ground and I guess that for a long period of time so it was quite deteriorated. That's why I like it!!
