Brimstone Butterfly

Gonepteryx rhamni

Description:

A Brimstone Butterfly female. They stay during winter and mate early in the spring.

Habitat:

They are common all over Europe, and from North Africa all the way to Siberia.

Notes:

This little darling came to sit on my lap when we were out for the last woodland foraging before the moose hunting season in october 2010. That's when smartphone cams come in handy :)
