Description:

I had about four Anise Swallowtail Butterfly Caterpillars in my garden in 2011. I am going to plant more anise plants this year and hope to attract more butterflies and have even more caterpillars in 2012!

Habitat:

Urban house vegetable garden.

There are many species of asclepias (milkweed), I got seeds for 8 different varieties from ebay so I should have a good selection for them this summer - provided I don't kill the plants first!

Cool Karen--I am going to get some milkweed too--I always see monarch flying over my house--I will lure them in this year!

We don't get these in Tennessee but I have planted pipevines (for the pipevine swallowtails), fennel (black swallowtails), pawpaw (zebra swallowtails) & a load of different milkweeds for the monarchs!
