Anise Swallowtail Butterfly Caterpillar

Papilio zelicaon

I had about four Anise Swallowtail Butterfly Caterpillars in my garden in 2011. I am going to plant more anise plants this year and hope to attract more butterflies and have even more caterpillars in 2012!

Urban house vegetable garden.

There are many species of asclepias (milkweed), I got seeds for 8 different varieties from ebay so I should have a good selection for them this summer - provided I don't kill the plants first!

Cool Karen--I am going to get some milkweed too--I always see monarch flying over my house--I will lure them in this year!

We don't get these in Tennessee but I have planted pipevines (for the pipevine swallowtails), fennel (black swallowtails), pawpaw (zebra swallowtails) & a load of different milkweeds for the monarchs!
