Chlorion aerarium
Found in Violet Cury Nature Preserve, Tampa Florida. Very conspicuous with its large size and blue coloring.
Pine Flatwoods. Near Lake Flynn within the Preserve.

After researching, I am confident that I've got genus Chlorion. The mud-dauber does look similar, but seems to have a more slender build and a narrower head. The eyes are positioned differently too.
This little guy is hunting for crickets, apparently...
It's got that ground-hunting predatory wasp look about it. Explore my suggestion and see where that leads you. Good luck! :-)
