Katydid nymph, Kikipounamu

Caedicia simplex

Description:

Common in gardens in New Zealand, also found in Australia. Usually difficult to find due to their excellent camouflage. Feed on foliage Adult size 40mm.

Habitat:

Common in gardens. Can't find much information on them otherwise but would assume they could also be found in native forest.

Notes:

This nymph was in our garden and I was very happy to find it. I love their intense green colour and leaf like pattern on their bodies.
