Azure Vase Sponge

Callyspongia plicifera

Description:

Photo take a t -45 ft in a Caribbean reef this is not a abundant sponge but is very common to find one is one of the most beautiful sea sponges in the Caribbean. Shaped like a vase, with many grooves and pits on the outside, it grows to 40 cm tall color varies from purple to yellowish.

Habitat:

It inhabits coral reefs from Florida all the Caribbean sea to Brazil. Usually solitary.
