The common crab spider lies hidden in flowers, waiting for a prey to come by. Adopting the flower's colour (mostly white or yellow), it becomes totally invisible. Only the female changes colour; the male, which is much smaller, remains brown. Approaching is female is a very risky business for him: the result may be fatal (photo 4).
Common in Europe.
