Greyish Saltator

Saltator coerulescens

Description:

Possibly a Greyish Saltator, spotted around the hotel grounds in Sarapiqui, Costa Rica. On average, the greyish saltator is 20 cm long and weighs 52 g. The plumage depends on age and subspecies, but in general this bird has grey or greyish-olive upperparts, a white stripe over the eye, a narrow white throat, a grey breast and a buff or cinnamon belly. This one seems a darker colour than others I've seen pictures of but it does have the features. Possibly one of the 13 subspecies maybe?

Thanks pcooper1177. It does look like one of those although much darker - maybe a subspecies?
