Great Egret

Ardea alba

Description:

These guys were awesome to watch! There were about 100-150 birds all in breeding plumage. Some were showing off. Some were waiting gracefully. Some had already found a partner. Some were gathering twigs to build a nest. There were some sitting on eggs already too. As their breeding season continues more will show up! Hopefully I will get to go back soon!

Notes:

Artificial rookery in protected area.
