Prickly-leaved Paperbark

Melaleuca styphelioides

Description:

A small to medium tree 6-15m tall with paper bark. Leaves are stiff, twisted and sharply pointed and crowded along the stems. Flowers in mid summer in spikes with white filaments.

Habitat:

Found in swampy places near creeks and in wetlands. Common on the Cumberland Plain. Occurs on the NSW and Qld coasts north of the Shoalhaven River.
