A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Wiki - Opiliones (formerly Phalangida) are an order of arachnids commonly known as harvestmen. Although they belong to the class of arachnids, harvestmen are not spiders, which are of the order Araneae rather than the order Opiliones. Some are troglobites.

Thanks for the order, rubens. It's news to me that harvestmen or daddy longlegs are not spiders! So, it was removed from the International Spider Survey mission.
It's a widespread myth in the United States that "the harvestman is the most toxic spider in the country, yet it can't bite humans because its fangs are too weak to penetrate our skin." False, false, false! :-) It's fun to debunk that myth, especially when it's an older adult who's heard that information their entire life.
