Madagascar screw-pine or common screw-pine

Pandanus utilis

Description:

My local guides did not know even the common name of this tree. It is about 60 feet/20 meters tall. They said the fruit is about the size of a grenade, and looks like a pine cone, sort of. What is it???

Habitat:

mountainside tropical forest--Dry Harbor Mountains, Jamaica
