Sand anemone

Epiactis thompsoni

Description:

Small (40mm) anemone in sand in a coastal intertidal rock pool.

Habitat:

On a rocky and sandy beach in a small nature reserve.

Notes:

A larger one nearby was about 60mm (pic 2).
