A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Junonia almana
can see this butterfly on wings mostly during dry season in our region (March to September) . The sexes are the same in pattern and the caterpillar is black with silver spots all over the body and fine branched spines.
I ussually find them near thye area where there is an abundace of their host plants - in open grass lands and cultivated lands.
This butterfly has a strong gliding flight.
