Sandhill Crane

Antigone canadensis

Description:

There was probably a couple hundred cranes in this field. I couldn't tell if the cranes in the first photo were doing some mating dances or being aggressive for other reasons. Video showing all the cranes: https://youtu.be/UxfHMmnTsEA

Habitat:

Wet pasture.

Notes:

A week later, I drove past the same field and it was completely flooded and I saw a large number of cranes at a different pasture up the road a little ways, only that one had cows in it.
