Cane Toadlet

Rhinella marina/Bufo marinus

Description:

Spotted in a small volcanic sediment tube cave in Negros.

Habitat:

Emerson Sy commented that this "is about 1/1000th adult size. By metamorphosizing relative early, tadpoles of this species minimize time spent in possibly fast drying temporary pools and avoid desiccation."

Notes:

ID to species by Emerson Sy (Phil. Biodiversity Net). Photo by Glen Malliet.

Hi there. This cute toad was placed in the "Reptiles of the World" mission, most likely by mistake. Can you please move it to "Amphibians of the World" instead? Thanks!
