Amata passalis


Amata passalis is a species of moth of the family Erebidae, found in Sri Lanka and India. It is known mainly as a defoliator of sandalwood (Santalum album) in India and hence often called as the sandlewood defoliator. It is also recorded on various alternate food plants.
