Popillia japonica
This attractive beetle is an invasive, introduced species to North America from Asia. These beetles are widespread and can cause serious damage to plants by skeletonizing the leaves when they feed. They are generally an iridescent copper and green on the head, protonum and elytra. The abdomen is dark with small tufts of whitish hairs along the margin.
