Beautiful golden cups, bowls, leaves, plaques, plates. This lichen completely covers large sections of stone-fruit tree (maybe apricot?).

Habitat:

Suburban back yard.

Notes:

The tree doesn't seem to be suffering from this coverage.

Knowing nothing about lichens, I wonder will this eventually kill the tree when it spreads far enough?
