Description:

A cute little frog that I found hiding in a crack in the ground.

Habitat:

There were these dug out ponds that were not filled with water yet, and this little guy lived in a crack in the ground in the dry pond.

I am surprised I saw this little guy too! I was just looking in the cracks in the ground, and I saw two little eyes looking up at me! At first I thought it was a snake, but then it moved out of its crack a little more and I saw it was a frog!

If you check range maps, wood frogs are not found in Utah. They are an eastern and northern species. They also have a full dark mask on the face.
