American Toad

Anaxyrus americanus

Description:

Medium-sized toad about 3 inches. Skin color can change depending on habitat color, humidity, stress, and temperature. Colors can range from yellow to brown to black, from solid colors to speckled. This toad had many warts on the body and legs.

Habitat:

Spotted near the Tamarac visitor center. Found near water and patches of vegetation. They can live almost everywhere, forests to grasslands.

Notes:

Eastern American toad subspecies.
