Interesting, Sanjay. I don't recall these having a particular ginger smell, but this was a very large garden with so many varieties of flowers. I've added a pair of photos showing the collected water in the 'cups'.

a very cool looking plant. It has these rather large inflorescences that look like honey-comb especially as they are yellow coloured (that slowly turn red!). The little 'cups' of the inflorescence hold water (take a look at the picture!). It's from the same genus as ginger and the water collected in these cups carry the very same ginger smell.
