Description:

Foliose lichen. Approximately 2-3 cm diameter. Thalli green, ca. 3-4 mm wide with a few terminal lobs, covered with soredia (non-sexual reproductive small powdery, granules). Apothecia prominent and numerous; up to 4-5mm diameter. Disks of young apothecia tan-colored; disks of mature dark brown and often wrinkled).

Habitat:

Growing on branch that had recently fallen during a storm. On same branch as Usnea strigosa (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/988...)
