Soldier Beetle

Heteromastix sp.

Description:

A beetle about 6 mm long. elytra and head were black. Thorax and first three segments of a beaded antennae were yellow as were the tibiae.

Habitat:

Spotted on Broom Tea-tree ( Leptospermum scoparium) in a national park.

Notes:

This ID needs confirmation. I am not able to find a match with any other soldier beetle with two-coloured antennae. <br. Family: Cantharidae
