Agkistrodon contortix mokasen
Aberrant marking-(Agkistrodon contortix mokasen) (formerly Northern Copperhead) CNAH still lists Northern Copperhead/PA does not want to
James-I know that you're ahead of us here (temperature wise)-I was told that looking for snakes in April in South Carolina is the best time-so I figure-it's getting near time to watch your step. (and make sure it's a Cottonmouth and not something harmless)
It's warming up here in Georgia and I'm wondering if the Cotton Mouth that visited last year will return to my front porch. I need to watch out.
Thanks! Although I already knew what it was-just didn't have the Latin name on hand when I posted it. In my notes-PA no longer uses the entire Latin name..not really sure why.
