Canis lupus familiaris
My dog, the love of my life, Baron an English Mastiff! He is in heaven now and I miss him dearly :( The species behind him is unknown....oh wait...that's my husband!

Awesome dog - I like all those giant breeds. Let's hope he never breaks a leg. That's my worst fear when I'm in the woods with my Great Dane mix.
wow, ,
How sweet! Glad you have good memories of Baron!
Welcome to Project Noah, Lisa!
:)
Yes it did. Thanks for sharing.
Didn't it! It helped me a great deal!
Wow, what a beautiful poem. I hope that is exactly where Cody is....made me tear up!
No, I haven't read it. I will look it up. thanks for the tip.....
It's hard to have them grow old on you...Cody's sister Bailey is getting up there as well in age. She was diagnosed with diabetes almost 2 yrs. ago, the vets tried to get us to put her down saying most people find dog diabetes inconvenient..well 2 yrs later we are managing it and giving her insulin..she is blind but has actually adapted beautifully and still seems to enjoy life.
It's a great way to immortalize him, sounds like Cody had a great home! Have you read Rainbow Bridge, the poem about losing a pet? It's beautiful, look it up if you haven't :)
Well we were semi-prepared with Cody since he battled his cancer for almost 2 years but we had thought his last surgery had fixed him and this Christmas we had to put him down. We actually had him cremated and he sits on our mantle. My husband lost it when Cody died even more than I did. He was a great companion. I put up Cody here too...it made me feel better to immortalize him on this great site.
Awwww! They are an incredible breed too.
I'm so sorry about Cody, Baron had to be put down and I have never cried so hard, I held him. He is buried on our property and his resting place is decorated with solar lights, it looks pretty at night, I know how you felt...I'm gonna check out Cody :)
The mastiff is an amazing dog. Great portrait. I recently lost one of my wonderful dogs as well (cancer in Cody's case). See my page to see Cody, he had a great personality.
