Jewel Beetle -1

Castiarina sexplagiata

Description:

A beautiful jewel beetle with with a long body and beautifully shaped ridged black elytra. On each elytron were three yellow patches of varied shapes. The outer margins of the elytra were tinged red and this colour ran on to the yellow patches like a bleed. Thorax was dark with a metallic heen. Eyes were large. Slender legs had slightly thick femurs.

Habitat:

Spotted on broom tea-tree in a national park.
