Coiled millipede

Choctella cumminsi Chamberlin

Description:

Round millipede with distinctive "knobs" on each segment. Sprayed me with some kind of orange goo when I picked it up! Endemic to the Cumberland Plateau. Choctella cumminsi is found in central Tennessee only. A strange family, its phylogenetic affinities are not certain. Info & ID provided by bugguide.net
