Flavoparmelia rutidota
A foliose lichen with grey-green thallus and cup-like apothecia (reproductive structures). The insides of the cups were a dark chocolate brown. The cups were small ranging from .5 to about 2mm. http://wiki.trin.org.au/Mangroves/Lichen...
Was growing on a fallen branch of a silver birch tree.
On the same branch were other lichen of different shapes and colour - will be posting these soon. i am not sure if they are related and hopefully will get some assistance with Identifying them. The apothecia produce fungal spores. http://www.rbg.vic.gov.au/science/biodiv...

This one looks to me similar to Parmelia quercina. Check

or whatever similar you have down under there!
Interesting colours. Not the usual greenish or yellowish tinges.
