Hooded Caladenia

Caladenia cucullata

Description:

Orchid to approx. 15cm tall. Caladenia gracilis looks remarkably similar but is picked by a strong musky smell released on warm days. Caladenia praecox (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/785...) also looks very similar but has fringing calli along the edge of the labellum (tongue) and generally flowers slightly earlier (aug-sep) rather than sep-nov.
