Description:

Photo take near the beach in a small path about 5 cm long this dragonfly moves next to my side and land on the grass. very close to a mangrove area.

Habitat:

Eastern 2/3rds of the United States; range continues into Mexico Ponds, lakes, occasionally the still areas of streams.

Yes it is a dragonfly. Although there is a Mexican Amberwing, I believe this is the Eastern because it is too dark brown to be the Mexican.
