Southern flannel moth

Megalopyge opercularis

Description:

Small fuzzy yellow, tan, and white moth with black markings on legs. Very interesting antennae.

Habitat:

This guy hung around our back porch for some time. He first appeared on my back sliding glass door, then an old shoe on the porch, and finally stayed awhile on an ivy that was located next to the porch. He/she stayed in this area for about a day or so.
