Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae
These gulls are a common sight on Australian beaches where they like to harass people (particularly those who are eating fish and chips) in large flocks. This solitary specimen was seen in the Coorong National Park near Goolwa - it looks pretty healthy, probably because it has few chips in its diet and prefers fresh fish to the battered, cooked variety.
