Varanus salvator
Water monitors are typically grey, with yellow spots and black stripes. They are covered in round scales and their tail is half the length of their body. The Water monitor is a large species of monitor lizard capable of growing to 3.21 meters in length, with the average size of most adults at 1.5 meters long. Maximum weight of this lizard can be over 25 kilograms , but most are half that size. Their body is muscular with a long, powerful, laterally compressed tail. Varanus salvator is a kind of Reptiles.
Water monitors are one of the most common monitor lizards found throughout Asia, and range from Sri Lanka, India, Indochina, the Malay Peninsula and various islands of Indonesia, living in areas close to water.
I found this Water monitor at my backyard next to the lake in Sammakorn Village. I think they have nest(s) near the drain connected to the lake. I usually see one or two of them in the lake in the evening. And sometimes, some of them came to my yard and tried to spawn under decorating-stone or under an untidy tree(as you can see in the picture)...

If you want to know why two of the photographs are different in size and resolution, it's because the first one is from my mom's old Nokia®'s camera (I asked her to take a photo of it for me when I wasn't at home, then in the same day I found it in the evening), and the second one is from my BlackBerry®'s camera.
ปิยะ นั้นคือตัว.. ?
Is this OK, Alex?
