Sciurus niger
Saw this squirrel eating a leaf.
Here, from what i read about it was the human hunting that make the 18century extintion, now people love them:)
Pamsai put up a spotting recently and she too was saying that the squirrels were fast vanishing because of the Shkras{birds of prey} The birds of prey prefer squirrels which are less than 1 year old. The older squirrels develop an enzyme which is harder for the birds to digest.
:)the last time i saw one was when i began in noah, but it was a very breaf sitting, because here they are very afraid of people.Squirrel's in portugal where extint in 18century.in 20 century they slowly began to apear,in the north caming from Galicia,in the south where introduced in the 70's in Lisbon in Monsanto Park.Since that time till now they continue to spread and now it's common to se them in the woods,i'am hapy with that:)i'am shooer that soon i'll spott one
goody ,you are sooo correct. Our native squirrels are the Western Gray Squirrel and these are introduced!! These are in abundance though!!
Looks like a fox squirrel and it appears as though they've been introduced into California.
