Description:

Described often as a mangrove tree or a false mangrove tree, these trees grow in salty wetlands. They have developed pneumatophores which are roots that grow above the surface of the water to breathe. The salt from the water can be felt on the leaves and tasted when touched.

Habitat:

Tropical mangrove systems.
