Brown Leaf Beetle

Ditropidus sp.

Description:

A small, about 5 mm long, shiny copper coloured beetle with a broad and slightly rounded pronotum. The elytra were pitted, sparsely hairy and had ridges that seemed to converge at the apices. Long segmented antennae were held straight. Legs had thick femora.
These two beetles were seen mating.

Habitat:

Spotted on an Acacia wattle tree in a national park.
