You're right it is rather small - about 1 1/2 inch across. It doesn't quite look like A muscaria to me, but is looks more Amanita than Leratiomyces ceres, which I think I've seen.

This looks really quite small and in the incorrect habitat for A. muscaria. Is that moss on wood? Consider Leratiomyces ceres.
