Taiga Flycatcher

Description:

Small. Drab. Likely to escape being spotted or mistaken for a sparrow by the casual observer. Lively. This one is likely to be a female.

Habitat:

Patch of unused land inside an urban residential area. I pass this area on my walks. The bird is perched on a Canna plant.

Notes:

Migratory. Came t say Hello to me All the way from northern Eurasia- eastern Russia to Siberia and Mongolia...where it breeds. I see this species during the winter- Kolkata has practically NO winter at all; it is so mild.
