It didn't bother the spider, if it had I wouldn't have felt so comfortable with it. I very much respect everything on this planet, I am no bully, but curious non-the-less. The more you come into contact with the unknown the more you learn to understand it, the more you understand it the more you love it, and the more you want to protect it from harm. That is my thinking on it.

For me it's not just about fear although a welt for a day or so is something I prefer to avoid. Moreover spiders will usually only bite big things like humans if their day is not working out too well. I agree to enjoy but with due respect for the life form.

While all spiders are venomous, this spider will not kill you if you are bitten. With the exception of a severe allergic reaction, if it bites, it only leaves a welt for a day or so. So there is no real danger in touching or holding this spider. Conquer your fears instead of letting them dictate too many of your own behaviors. Get out and enjoy (not fear) nature in all it's diversity~Tanya

Good shot Tanya. I like those black furry leg-warmers on this one.
