Pygmy Rock Crab

Glebocarcinus oregonensis

Description:

Red crab hiding among the mussels. I often find more purple ones, but this one was much more vivid red. I thought it might be dead to explain the color, but it was definitely alive. There is another one behind it, and it is a little more purple

Habitat:

Tide pool on a rocky beach
