This is a strange flower with two enlarged lavender coloured petals.

Habitat:

Growing wild on a mound near Jali Mahal, Mandu, Madhya Pradesh.

SukanyaDatta, no problem. Sometimes I head right to the description/habitat/notes without looking at the title. Need to start from the top of the page. We have flowers like yours here in Minnesota but they are much darker blue and on upright stems except for the introduced dayflower which is lax.

No I think I may also have made a mistake..I had Flower as the common name and Commelina undulata as the scientific name...after you commented I changed the common name to long leaved dayflower, which I should have done right at first.

@Gary17 Yes it is Commelina undulata.

I'm not sure of the species or even genus but this looks like a plant in the Commelinaceae (spiderworts, dayflowers).
