Brown Anole

Anolis sagrei

Description:

Around 11:00 a.m. in the morning, I looked out of the right front window, and I saw one reptile, resting on the left, outdoor wall, about six feet from the front door. The color of this reptile, was different shades of brown. This reptile, had four digits on each fore limb, and four digits, on each hind limb. This reptile, had a dorsal line, running down the length of its back, to the end of its tail. This reptile, had a lot of dark, triangular shapes, on both sides of the dorsal line. Its digits was banded in two colors. Alternating, dark and medium colors. Carnivorous, brown anoles are opportunistic, and will eat almost anything they can find.

Habitat:

The brown anole, was introduced in southern Florida, from the Caribbean decades ago. Brown anoles, thrive in almost any habitat, and are often abundant in suburban or even urban areas. Since its introduction, the brown anole, has become one of the most abundant lizards in Florida.
