Description:

California quail are ground-dwelling birds. Males are mostly grey with a scaly belly and nape. Their face are black and outlined with white. They have a curved feather plume on their head.

Habitat:

Spotted along the Wenas Road in eastern Washington. Standing on a fence post in front of a barn.
